Back to Square One was a group exhibition held at UltraSuperNew Gallery in Harajuku, Tokyo, in October 2019, featuring 12 artists who explored the concept of the “square” in its many forms—and shapes.

Autozine, a surrealist zine created in 2016 with two other eccentric mind-benders, featured a mix of automatic writing and collages. It marked the first time I illustrated my writing, representing my artistic square one—and the point of no return.

For the exhibition, I reworked elements from Autozine and contributed four new artworks, paying homage to where it all started.
