Jam Baxter is a prolific British rapper from London, now based in Mexico, renowned for his unique, surreal, and highly lyrical style—or, as his profile puts it, “constructing his own nightmarish visions of a world subsumed by vice and venom.”
After exchanging a few messages over the years—mostly me fanboying and pestering him for lyrics—he reached out one day to ask if I’d be down to create a piece for a flyer for a couple of upcoming UK gigs. Down I was!
I was given almost complete carte blanche, with just a few references to my previous work as guidance. Naturally, it didn’t take long before his head ended up chopped off, hollowed out, and caged by the infamous axe-birds that haunt the arid plains of Guadarajaja and beyond.
